From author Steve Alten:
Over the last 23 years I have
written
18 thrillers including several NY Times and international best-sellers. I have also completed several dozen stories that have
NEVER
been read by fans, publishers or producers. Not because they weren’t good enough; in fact many of these tales are among my personal favorites (I entered several of them in contests just for shits and giggles and they either won or were semi-finalists). The scripts have simply been waiting on the back-burner for the MEG movie to hit theaters (little did I know it would take 22 years - God bless you Belle Avery) while the unfinished novels had to be put aside temporarily in order to expedite other contracted books, or they were sequels waiting for the dramatic options on the first book to be optioned in The MEG’s mighty wake.
In addition to making available this never-before-read treasure-trove of Steve Alten stories I have initiated a pet project of updating and enhancing each of my novels in a way that would create an entirely different reading experience. Take GOLIATH. The novel was written back in 2002 during the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Fast-forward and all of the dictators executed by Simon Covah are already dead. Last year I updated the novel because it was being pitched as a movie (thumbs-up) but my U.S. and international publishers won’t do a reprint until the movie is being filmed. At the same time, several talented graphic artists who are fans of the book created some amazing color images and videos of the Goliath that would enhance the reading of the new text. One problem: It’s way too expensive for either me or my publishers to print, nor can it be formatted and sold as an ebook.
But I can allow you to read my customized copy for free… in my private library.

WHY AM I CHARGING A MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP FEE?
Each one of these projects represents six months to a year or more of hard work. If the work was published you’d pay $10 – $28 or more to read it. Same thing here – only you’ll receive so much more. In essence, it’s like belonging to a Book of the Month Club, hosted by the best-selling author. (Access to the Members Only Library holding the special editions of my novels is FREE (a $200 - $600 value).
The monthly fee also helps offset the costs of a new treatment to combat my Parkinson’s Disease. I was diagnosed 13 years ago at the age of 47, and it can be a bear. Unlike prescription medicines which can cause debilitating side-effects, the extract is natural, has no harmful side effects, and allows me to feel semi-normal for a few precious hours at a time… so thank you!
Of course you can cancel at anytime… but knowing what I have to offer and the projects in the works, I’m betting you’ll be visiting the website every day for many years to come.
Steve Alten, Ed.D.
