Unit Program Planning Party
This year UP3 will be a COUNCIL-WIDE event to be held on June 12th at the new Heart of Virginia Council Leadership Center at 8090 Villa Park Drive, Henrico, Virginia 23228. To satisfy social distancing guidelines, participants are asked to register for a time slot between 9 AM and 12 Noon in 15-minute increments. There will be maximum of 25 people in each time slot. The entire experience should take about an hour.
Fireside Chats
The Heart of Virginia Council, Boy Scouts of America Key 3: Incoming Council President Chip Phillips, Council Commissioner Tom Wood and Scout Executive George McGovern are holding 3 Virtual Fireside Chats seeking feedback on how we can better serve our units and families. If you have any questions you would like answered, be sure to sign up to receive the Zoom link. 
Battlefield Klondike Derby
Battlefield will be holding its Klondike Derby on May 21st through May 23. This year's theme will be "Claim Jumpers." Teams will need to know their BSA scouting facts in order to avoid losing gold to those trying to jump their claim. Make sure you take advantage of the opportunities to earn extra gold along the way so you’re prepared when the claim jumpers find you. TODAY is the last day to register, so don't wait!
James E. West Fellowship
Do you know of a volunteer who deserves special recognition?
Your District Chairman, District Commissioner and OA Chapter Adviser dedicate many long hours to making your organization successful. There are also many other volunteers who put in long hours to make scouting successful. Recognizing these individuals with a James E West Fellowship not only rewards them, but also provides financial support for the council's endowment. James E West Fellowship starts at a $1,000 contribution to the endowment. Your group, unit or other organization can raise this amount through individual donation.
