Saturday, March 2nd; 2-4pm
$10 owners / $15 non-owners
In this hands-on class we will make & take herbal infused oil as well as an herbal salve. Join us for a fun, informative class where you will gain working knowledge of the useful properties of select herbal oils and salves.

Professional Knife Sharpening
Market Saturdays, 9-11am
$4-$7 per knife
Local knife sharpener, Laurence, will be in the Flatlander Classroom on market Saturdays to offer his expert knife sharpening services. Bring your dull and worn kitchen knives to the co-op, and they’ll leave like new!

Owner Appreciation Days
Thursday, March 7th - Sunday, March 10th
The first Owner Appreciation Days of 2019 are here! There's no better time to be an owner, so save the date and invite your friends! Owners can enjoy 10% off during a shopping trip, along with amazing store-wide sales, available from store open to close! You'll also have the opportunity to meet some local farmers and producers, while they sample their unique products.

During Owner Days, we'll be hosting an Owner Drive! All new owners will receive a $10 gift card, and the first 70 new owners will receive an exclusive Co-op Swag Bag! Already an owner? Refer a friend, and you'll receive a $10 credit on your owner account to use toward your next purchase!

Adam of Breakfast, Life, & Dinner will be teaching some cooking staple skills, including a classic marinara sauce and homemade Focaccia bread. When you can make delicious bread in less than an hour, along with a simple sauce, you’ve got everything you need to turn a weekday night into an Italian feast!

Have a big sweet tooth? This week we will be focusing on making delicious healthier desserts that are easy to make a really affordable. Fudgy dark chocolate brownies and vegan blondies (with a secret ingredient in them!) will curb your cravings and leave you feeling satisfied while staying health conscious.

Friday, March 15th; 5-7pm; served in the Co-op Cafe

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, we’ll be serving classic Irish-American corned beef from Triple S Farms with local potatoes, carrots, and cabbage from Blue Moon & PrairiErth Farms. For our vegetarian and vegan friends, we’ll have seitan made in the style of corned beef, accompanied by those tasty local veggies. Served outside the co-op cafe.

Join us for another popular Flavors of Ethiopia class! Tesfaye will feature an authentic dish of fish and fresh salad, paired with traditional Ethiopian bread, injera. Born in Ethiopia and a scholar of anthropology, Tesfaye will also discuss the cultural, topographical, and historical elements that shaped and influenced contemporary Ethiopian cuisine.

What exactly are these meal kits? Think Blue Apron or Hello Fresh, but with tasty co-op foods, less plastic packaging, and more affordable prices! We do the shopping, you pick it up and cook at home. This month, we are featuring our Friday Feasts recipe for shepherd's pie. There are both vegan & meat options for this meal kit! Pick up is in the Flatlander Classroom. All orders must be placed by February 12th.

Keeping a sourdough starter might seem intimidating at first, but it is actually quite easy and fun with the proper care. In part one of a series on sourdough science, come and learn the best practices for creating a starter from scratch, maintaining one day to day, and general troubleshooting tips, along with some of the science behind starters and bread baking in general.

Kombucha home brewer and Common Ground education pioneer, Shasta, is returning as a co-op instructor to share her process for DIY kombucha. This class will cover basic principles of home brewing. Best of all, every class participant can leave class with their own scoby to start their own kombucha.

Tuesday, Feb. 12th; 4-5pm

In this hour long class, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders learn basic cooking skills, how to read a recipe, and make tasty snacks! Please e-mail education@commonground.coop to alert instructor of any dietary restrictions.  

Thursday, March 28th; 6-8pm

Join us for another cooking class taught by the staff of the Red Herring Vegetarian Restaurant! This class will showcase original recipes from the Red Herring, highlighting healthy vegan ingredients.

Friday Feasts: Vegan Gyros

Don’t miss this Friday Feast, featuring vegan gyros! These gyros are made up of gyro meat-style seitan, tzatziki, pickle, onion, and tomato. It will be served with a side of housemade taboulleh.

Don’t miss our second session of Ethiopian Cuisine where our instructor, Tesfaye, will share a classic vegan lentil & greens dish, served with traditional Ethiopian flatbread Injera.
