Register for Child Summer Tutoring!
The Family Literacy Center, in partnership with the Lapeer District Library, is offering a free summer tutoring session to elementary-aged students (focusing on 2nd and 3rd graders) in the Lapeer County area. During this 5-week session, tutors will work with kids to help them improve/maintain reading and math skills over the summer break.

Dates: July 12, 19, 26, August 2, & 9. Time: 9:30-11:00am or 11:30-1:00pm.

Sessions will be at the deAngeli Library in Lapeer.

TAKE A PLUNGE FOR LITERACY

We are looking for some exclusive volunteers who are willing to sit in the dunk tank for an hour or two during Lapeer Days on Friday, August 20.
Volunteers for this activity should be able to recruit a group of people who would enthusiastically embrace an opportunity to see this person take the plunge and would pay to make it happen.

Why I Volunteer at FLC!
I’ve had the privilege to volunteer with the Family Literacy Center for about four years. It is a joy to be part of their work in our community. The FLC changes lives by helping children, teens, and adults grow as citizens, students, and members of society. I volunteer because I believe in what we’re doing, and because the FLC has proven to be effective and productive for decades. There are lots of worthwhile causes in our community. Lapeer is full of organizations that help others. So why the FLC? In short, because they do it right and they do it well.
