It was great to have Skyfest back in Spokane and at Fairchild Air Force Base last weekend! It was an honor to be invited to have both our 2019 "We Are Spokane" float and Royalty represent the partnership between Fairchild and The Spokane Lilac Festival.
Our Royal Court had a wonderful time meeting many community members as well as getting personal tours of planes, vehicles and other items on display. Thank you to our VP of Community and Military, Alan Hart, for helping arrange both getting our beautiful float on base and giving our Royalty a first hand tour.
Our Lilac City is very fortunate to have a military base that is so involved with the community it is located in and we are equally proud of our region's citizens that come out and support them in return. We hope that Skyfest continues every year as we will most definitely be a part of it!
This week, Queen Madison spoke to the Cheney Kiwanis chapter to thank them for their generous donation to our scholarship program as well as gave members a bit of history of the Lilac Festival.
The ladies of the Royal Court have some time off from Lilac to enjoy the 4th of July holiday with their family and friends. On July 13th, they are back in action at the Cheney Rodeo Parade. The Court, especially Queen Madison, are very excited to be a part of this great local event. We hope to see you out there both waving to our Royalty and Lilac Members, as well as, celebrating the great town of Cheney!
To round out the 2019 Festival and Parade season, the Court will be headed to Hillyard Hi-Jinx Parade on August 3rd, then up to our neighbors to the North, Penticton, BC for the Peach Festival and then back in our region on September 21st for the SE Spokane County Fair in Rockford, WA. To learn more about these great events, scroll down to the calendar section to find links for each festival.
We want to wish our Royal Court members a wonderful, fun and safe summer!
