Big Horn Rush Dog Sled Races
The Antelope Butte Foundation is set to play host to the inaugural Bighorn Rush Sled Dog Challenge December 30-31, 2017 at the Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area on Highway 14 in the Bighorn Mountains. Dog sled teams from all over the Rocky Mountain region will gather to race a variety of courses all beginning and ending at the Antelope Butte ski lodge. Races are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. both days, and should end in the early afternoon. The longest distance races, with the largest dog teams depart first, with the shortest distance, junior race finishing the day. The public is invited to attend to witness firsthand the raw excitement and energy of these canine athletes, and will be able to interact with the dogs and their mushers in between races. There will be food and drinks available at the race site.
