REFLECTION
"Birches" by singer, songwriter, painter, Tom Pirozzoli.
The calendar says October, and the outrageous color in the forests that beckons “leaf peepers “, confirm it.

There’s a nip in the Autumn afternoons and a crunch of leaves and acorns underfoot. Mother Nature soothes the soul and reassures us with a dependable cycle of the seasons. We’re thankful to awaken each morning to the spectacular view of forests and mountains surrounding Lake Sunapee.

Without a doubt, Summer 2020 has been an irregular one the world over… marked by record high temperatures, violent storms, an unruly political climate and the cancelling of traditional events, due to the safety restrictions of a pandemic.

As we settle in near the fireside, we reflect on what is most important and dear to us; appreciative of the ingenuity of those who provided the essentials of life and the caring and kindness that was extended to friend and stranger alike.
EVERYDAY HEROES
Everyday, heroes have risen to the task and continue to help us through these uncertain times to keep our world as near normal as possible. Sunapee is proud of the dedicated Abbott Library staff who rallied round to provide services during the pandemic. They’ve been available by phone, email and live chat… programs continued virtually, books were even delivered to our doorstep. The Abbott is now open for browsing, returns and public computer use. Check the website for special programs and hours of operation: abbottlibrary.org

Baristas at this Coffeehouse have instituted a thoughtful gesture of kindness and giving back to their community. A gentle reminder that kindness can be so easy to spread.
