Dear St. Francis of Assisi School Parents and Guardians,

Happy Catholic Schools Week!  What a celebration we are having on campus this week.  Thank you to all families who attended our Open House on Sunday.  The weather was beautiful and our classrooms were creatively decorated with student work and accomplishments.  I appreciate the many hours of preparation put in by our teachers, aides, and volunteers. Their dedication and commitment to our school inspires me daily!

On Monday, the Servite Jazz Band performed for our student body.  While our students may not be exposed to jazz music very often, they recognized some familiar tunes from Disney and patriotic music to honor our nation.  Two alumni, Login Armijo and Andrew Nguyen, performed beautifully and exemplified the fruits of excellence and hard work.

Yesterday, our 6 th grade students planned and presented a beautiful liturgy for our school community.  They reminded us of the theme - Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed. Our Class of 2021 demonstrated strong leadership skills through their ability to proclaim the readings, highlight the blessings of a Catholic education, and even cantor for the responsorial psalm.  Fr. Sy reminded us to be thankful for the foundation of faith given to us in Baptism by our parents. He encouraged students to go home and thank their parents for providing a Catholic education at St. Francis. I hope you received hugs and love from your students!

Today we opened the campus to over 500 visitors who attended our first campus-wide Special Persons Day. Performances from the early childhood students lit up the hall with light and enthusiasm. They sang songs of love and gratitude for their visitors and were greeted with praise and applause from their guests.  This day is one of my favorite days of the year at St. Francis. Seeing the campus alive with students and their friends and families enjoying a meal together really highlights the blessing of this school community!  Thank you to our parents for all you do to support Catholic education. Thank you for your support of our administration, teachers, and staff. We look forward to serving you breakfast in the morning to show our gratitude.
