Strengthening Relations & Building Community
Congratulations to the Ossining Children's Center for breaking ground last week on their new facility soon to be located on State Street. These first graders made it the most adorable groundbreaking ever.

At last week's work session the trustees, Chief Sylvester and I spoke at length about how to strengthen communication and trust between local law enforcement and the immigrant community. Click here to view this portion of the meeting . The August 7 legislative session will include an update of a plan demonstrating how the Ossining Police Department will prioritize strengthening relations with the Hispanic community. In addition to the well developed program of family activities, OPD will be expanding the frequency of group discussions with Spanish speaking adult residents.

Last week's full work session agenda can be reviewed here , including links to proposed new laws regarding plumbing and electrical permits that may impact local contractors. The Village is also proposing legislation that will expand public notification of projects that are before the land use boards.
