Last month, the Jewish Film Festival of Grand Rapids presented My Hero Brother - a documentary about a group people with Down syndrome and their siblings who undertake an Himalayan mountain climbing expedition. DSAWM President Tom Hackett attended the film and shares his experience.
Anita and Eric Miron are proof that in tragedy there is hope. The couple lost their son Jack, who had Down syndrome, at 32 weeks gestation. They now plan to adopt a child with special needs.
