Squash Canada confirms partnership with Club Locker as their national tournament software.

Earlier this year, Squash Canada took on a review of software platforms with the goal of providing a unified national ranking system. Squash Canada invited representatives from each province to play an integral role on the committee in assessing the top three bidders. Squash Canada has recently selected Club Locker as the preferred system for providing and managing national rankings.

In addition to Club Locker's ranking platform, Squash Canada has also negotiated the ability for Provincial and Territory Organizations to leverage the ranking and membership features and services available with Club Locker.

Several provinces are now working with Squash Canada to setup and implement Club Locker on a Regional basis for this coming fall.  Squash BC is currently in partnership with SportyHQ. SportyHQ will be serving its fifth year of the five-year partnership agreement in the 2018/2019 season.
Squash BC has established a taskforce committee to review Squash Canada's decision; specifically, the requirements for ranking results to be reported to Squash Canada for the national ranking and to review the opportunity that the Club Locker platform provides the membership of Squash BC.  This committee will be focused on this review for the remainder of the year and will be making recommendations to the Board based on their findings.
More on Club Locker:
The Club Locker technology platform was initially developed by US Squash to serve its needs, and now operates separately from the association to allow membership organizations to offer a sports-based value proposition that serves players at all levels, partners including clubs, facilities, and coaches, as well as administrators at local and national levels.

Last year, England Squash partnered with Club Locker as well as the World Squash Federation.

2018 Evergreen Summer Doubles full of fun!

The Evergreen Summer Doubles Squash event celebrated its 20th year (July 10 to 15)! And it is still one of the most popular doubles events on the coast! This year we had 67 players representing 55 teams.

It was a special Friday night as Don Smerch organized a reunion of original tournament volunteers to help with the BBQ. Tim Thistle, Keith Jolly, Dave Mazzei and Robert Dubois just to name a few who came out. But unlike years past when they would BBQ to the wee hours of the night, they had to meet their strict bedtime of 9:30pm so all packed up a little after 9:00. Not like the old days...lol... but still great to see them out!

Partic
ipants enjoyed the high level of squash, great weather, Friday night BBQ  and the usual Saturday night pool/patio party at the Berwick's.

Sun n' Surf - it doesn't get any better than this!
The 2018 Sun n' Surf  at the Jericho Tennis Club (August 15-19)  is back for another action-packed weekend.

This year's theme 'Squash the Living Dead' will include lots of fun social events, Jericho's legendary Saturday night theme dinner and dance party including prizes for the best costume.   And this year the tournament is excited to announce the inclusion of a $5k PSA World Tour Event alongside the amateur tournament.

This non-ranking event provides a great opportunity to get on court, play some squash and have some fun while enjoying the best of summer at Jericho's prime beach front location (literally steps from the squash courts!)  Players can enjoy squash and après squash on one of Jericho's patios or the pool deck overlooking the ocean and north shore mountains.

2018 Junior Pan Am Championships

Canada had great success at the 2018 Junior Pan Am Squash Championships held from June 17 to 23 in Brasilia, Brazil.

The Canadian Men's Team took home gold, Mixed Doubles Team Flynn & Orcutt took home silver and Flynn took home bronze in the Men's. Most importantly Team Canada received the Fair Play Trophy! Click here for the full story.

We want to congratulate Sarah Cao on being a solid member of the Canadian contingent. She reported:

At the Junior Pan Ams I had a lot of good experiences and learned a lot. There was lots of energy and excitement.

In singles and doubles I was a little disappointed with my results, but I didn't play as well as I wanted to. For the team events, the girls got fifth and the guys won gold!

The best part of the trip was getting to see so many different people coming together to celebrate a sport.

Congratulations to the Team!
