FLEMINGTON, N.J. — Many Flemington businesses will be participating in Shop Small Saturday on Nov. 24. The Flemington Community Partnership will use the occasion as the borough-wide holiday kick-off event.
Small Business Saturday is a program started by American Express to encourage shopping at small businesses.
Festive holiday decorations throughout the borough will entice locals as well as visitors to make a day of it in Flemington. Storefront owners are trying to outdo each other as part of a window decorating contest. Shoppers can vote for their favorite decorations.
Borough businesses will offer friendly customer service, treats, special deals and unique finds. There will be music at core locations with visits from Santa plus horse-drawn carriage rides on Main Street.
At the Shoppes of Flemington on Reaville Ave., Zoup! will host live holiday music.
Flemington will also welcome back the Paw Patrol characters Skye and Chase from the popular animated TV series about a team of plucky rescue dogs.
The Paw Patrol will be at Justice at the Shoppes from 12:15 to 1 p.m. and then at the Historic Courthouse on Main Street from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.
Santa will be in Suite 76b at Liberty Village from 12 to 4 p.m.
