February 21 - Sherwood Student Ministry Fund Raiser

 
To help students and their families with the cost of summer camps and Disciple Now, the ELEVATE Student Ministry at Sherwood Church is hosting a pancake dinner at Eggs Up Grill on Friday, February 21, at 5:30 pm. 

To raise money, students must sell tickets to our pancake dinner for $10 each. Students will receive $8 for each ticket they sell.  Students who sell tickets are also expected to help serve and wait tables at the event on February 21. Students who also serve will receive a percentage of the tips collected during the event. This amount will be added to your final total of money raised.
February 22 - Princess Brunch for K3-5th Grade Girls 
February 26 & 27- HS Community Service Hour Opportunity
High school students can earn community service hours by participating in the upcoming Lift Every Voice 2020 concert celebrating Black History Month.   
 
The commitment is for February 26 AND February 27. Students will miss school for a clinic (rehearsal) February 26 from 10-4pm at ASU East, with the concert being February 27 @ ASU West at 630pm.
 
SCA students will be joining Dougherty County students as well as others and will be provided lunch on February 26. We are looking for as many students as are willing.  
 
Interested students should let Mrs. Wendy Wilson know by email or by dropping by her office and letting her know this week.  SBC's Mark Willlard will be working with our group.

February 28-29 - Prayer Conference at SBC
 
Bob Bakke is senior teaching pastor of Hillside Church in Minneapolis. A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Bob spent 14 years serving Connecticut and New Jersey churches. For 12 years he served as an executive director of the Evangelical Free Church of America, promoting prayer and spiritual awakening. He is an author and has produced television and radio simulcasts since 1994. Bob is now on the executive team for OneCry, a movement whose goal is seeing revival in the American Church and spiritual awakening across our nation.

 April -Washington DC Mission Trip Open to HS Students
Are you looking for something fun and meaningful to do over spring break? Then join your classmates on a mission trip to Washington DC. This trip, led by Mr. Roberts and Dr. Dougherty, will serve a new church plant called Veritas City Church in the heart of Georgetown in our nation's capital. The team will leave on Wednesday, April 8, and return Monday, April 13. The trip is open to high school students as well as students in the youth group at Sherwood Baptist Church. The cost will be $750. Please consider attending this important opportunity to grow your faith and help this church as they reach their surrounding area this Easter. For further information, see Mr. Roberts.

We have weekly student broadcast news posting every Tuesday morning at 8 AM. Students will watch these at school, but parents are encouraged to subscribe to the Sherwood Showstoppers news channel. Applying for Your Driver's License?
Remember to call/email the school office at least 24 hours ahead of time to request the Certificate of School Enrollment needed to obtain a student driver's license.  That way we can have the form ready and notarized before you get here. Forms are valid for thirty (30) days.
