The summer of 2020 marks META4's Fifteenth Anniversary!    It was the spring of 2005 when a foursome of like-minded artists and would-be entrepreneurs hatched a plan at a kitchen table.  A few months later, META4 Contemporary Craft Gallery opened in July at 180 Queen Street, Port Perry.  Six months later we moved a few doors down to a bigger location at 200 Queen Street.  Two years ago (has it been 2 years already?) we opened our second location at 164 Hunter Street West in Peterborough.   It's been an amazing decade and a half!  Thousands and thousands of students have learned and created in our studio. Hundreds of artists have found an outlet for their work. Countless happy customers have taken home something unique, original and exceptional, as a gift for themselves or someone else.  

 

It's well known that we love a celebration, so we plan to mark this milestone year with several activities.  Although we won't be hosting a Studio Soiree in January this year, stay tuned for more information and a call for entry to our summer anniversary show.  Watch your emails for the "it's our birthday but we're giving away the gifts" feature. 

 

In this increasing digital and detached world, META4 Gallery is proud to connect the artist and maker with the aficionado.  William Morris summed it up when he said "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful." Happily, at META4 Gallery you can fulfil both of these propositions.
