2019-20 Salary Schedules
The Board of Education approved the 2019-20 salary schedules at the June meeting. Full documents can be found on BoardDocs and on the district website HERE. The Board of Education maintained its commitment to fully paid employee health insurance by approving increases in allocations to health insurance premiums. In summary, $600 (1.6%) was added to the base of the teacher salary schedule in addition to steps for years of service, education and longevity. All classified staff received at least a 2.0% increase to the base salary schedules. Additional increases were made to focus departments that were experiencing ongoing vacancies or were not competitive with surrounding districts. Enhancing employee compensation will continue to be a focus for our district as we take proactive measures to prepare for increases in minimum wage and teacher shortages.

Earlier this month all employees received an email from "Republic R-III" with the subject line "SafeSchools Online Training."

This email houses a link to the required training videos that all employees must watch annually. The username is your district email address.

We are providing these videos should you want to watch them prior to returning to work, for some of you.  However, the due date to have these completed is not until Friday, August 23.

If you did not receive this email, please contact your supervisor directly.

Online Back to School Registration NOW OPEN!
O ne really important element for the 2019-20 school year is that nearly all back to school forms will need to be completed online through the SISK12 Parent Portal. As a reminder, the Parent Portal is a tool that parents can use to monitor items like meal balances, grades, attendance, etc. We recommend using it throughout the school year!

Now, this tool will be used to make the back to school form process much easier and smoother for our families.  K-12 families, please login to the Parent Portal and complete the needed forms beginning July 22. High school students will need to have this completed by August 1 in order to participate in the Parking Permit Pick-Up, and elementary and RMS students should have this completed by the first day of school, August 15. All kindergarten through 12th grade students must have a parent/guardian complete these required forms Take note that specific forms must be completed for students to participate in various activities, including technology usage.  Also, preschool students DO NOT have to complete this process.

To find the Parent Portal simply visit  republicschools.org and click on the "Parent Portal" icon. This can also be accessed through the district's free mobile app.  As a reminder, to  login use the email address you have provided to the district and enter the password you have created. If you've forgotten it, simply click on the "forgot password" button and follow the prompts.

TAKE NOTE: Do not choose "Register New Family" if your student has attended Republic School District in the past or is registered to attend kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year. This option is for new to Republic families only.

TROUBLESHOOTING: If you are having issues or are receiving errors, we recommend trying the following:
1. Changing your browser- the system operates best on Google Chrome.
2. Clearing your cache. On the screen in which you are having issues, hold the shift button and press refresh. Keep the shift button held until the refresh button is done spinning.

Click on the image to the left to view a training video to walk you through the online form process.

New Student Enrollment
Republic School District would like to welcome families new to Republic for the 2019-20 school year! The student registration process can be completed through both an online and in-person process.   For full details CLICK HERE.

Roundabout Construction & Impact to RHS Entrances
Construction of the roundabout on M Highway near the north entrance of Republic High School is near completion and on schedule. MoDOT has closed the RHS entrance off of M Highway and a portion of that road until the completion of construction, which we are told will be by August 9 (prior to the 2019-20 school year).

Until this proposed August 9 completion date the only functioning entrance to RHS is from ZZ Highway. This means all summer traffic will need to access RHS using the ZZ Highway entrance.

As the 2019-20 school year approaches the Republic School District will be working with MoDOT to distribute educational materials to students, employees and the community at large in regards to traffic behaviors needed to navigate the roundabout. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this construction.
Celebrating Birthdays at School with Smart Snacks
Celebrating birthdays at school is certainly fun and memorable for our students. All students have an opportunity to celebrate by sending trinkets or treats to share. Due to district policy, if treats are brought in they must be on the USDA Smart Snacks list and also must be store-bought and sealed. There are many delicious, fun and healthy approved items including cookies, puddings, snack crackers, fruit snacks and ice cream treats. Additional details can be found at https://www.republicschools.org/healthservices While this is a change from previous years, only allowing snacks from this list to be brought into classrooms will assist in making sure we are able to meet student allergy needs along with providing healthy snacks for students as birthdays and celebrations are a regular occurrence.

**Principals will be sharing with teachers and secretaries the process for how to address any snacks that come to school that do not meet these standards.

Open Positions: PLEASE SHARE!
We're looking for some great teammates to add to our STRIPES 360 department and as paraprofessionals! For details visit
