PowerCorps Camden

PowerCorps Civic Story

Because of partner investment in a path to employment, PowerCorps Camden is changing lives. Check out this link to a Civic Story highlighting PowerCorps Camden. The short video highlights the ways lives are changed thanks to PowerCorps. Thank you to the City of Camden Mayor's Office, Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority, Subaru of America, Cooper University Hospital, Corporation for National and Community Service, PSE&G, US Department of Environmental Protection and Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and all of our workforce development partners.
A Legacy of Giving
Thank you to the Matthew P. Pellegrino Foundation for selecting Center For Family Services as your charity of choice this year.

Because of you, and the supporters of your annual event, $25,000 was raised to support young mothers and their children who find themselves without a safe place in which to live.

On May 20, Center For Family Services had the pleasure of meeting Matty's family and friends at the foundation's golf tournament and reception. Their contributions to the local community over the past 23 years is truly inspiring and continues the legacy of Matty and his passion for helping children and families.
Subaru Share the Love
Your neighborhood auto dealer continues to share the love! Thank you to the entire team at Prestige Family of Dealerships, a family owned and operated dealership in Turnersville, NJ. Because of your commitment to your local community, Subaru's 2018 "Share the Love" campaign raised over $27,000 for Center For Family Services.

Your gift makes housing and important services available for mothers and children in need of a safe place to live. Thank you for caring about people in need and for taking action to make a difference!
A Pathway to Success, Because of You!
Michael Evans is determined. Life has thrown a series of curveballs his way and each time he's bounced back stronger and smarter than before. Now, thanks to you, he's on a successful career path.

Michael first entered Center For Family Services through our Safe & Supportive Housing programs when he found himself in need of a safe place to live. He thrived in the program as he healed and grew from the complex life circumstances he'd experienced. He also gained the courage to pursue education when he enrolled at Lincoln Tech, graduating after 2 years with a certificate in Automotive Technology.

After graduating, Michael wanted to continue to explore career paths. In November 2018, he was accepted into Center For Family Services' PowerCorps Camden program where for six months he and other members worked to tackle pressing environmental challenges in Camden City. He also learned valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, and professional development.
After completing PowerCorps Camden in May 2019, Michael utilized the skills he worked so hard to gain to land a full-time job in construction with the Michaels Organization.

Thanks to your support, opportunities such as Lincoln Tech and PowerCorps Camden were available to Michael. Thank you for being part of Michaels journey to independence and success!
Healing Kits
Through the support of Campbell's Soup Company employee volunteers as well as the United Way of Gloucester County's Day of Action volunteers, we have been able to distribute over 75 Healing Kits. Because of you, families have the resources to heal beyond their regular counseling sessions. These kits provide families with the supplies to continue their trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy techniques at home on their own.
Volunteers Receive State Recognition
We are proud of our volunteers who were honored at the New Jersey State Governor's Jefferson Awards Ceremony in the following categories:

Your service is inspiring!

Thank you volunteers from TransUnion for showing some love to Mother Child again this year! We appreciate your hard work making the home a welcoming place for moms and their babies.
