Old Spanish Days Fiesta  
"Spirit of Community"

Join La Presidenta Barbara Carroll for the annual celebration that includes sampling delicious foods at El Mercado de la Guerra,  the thrilling
El Desfile Historico, the colorful El Desfile de los Ninos, rocking through the evenings in the Casa Cantina or Crazy Horse Cantina and enjoying music, dance, fun and so much more of Old Spanish Days Fiesta! 

The poster is an original graphic design by local Santa Barbara artist Victor Sigismondi, and features a classic parade scene in bright vivid colors. It showcases the children, dancers and horses in the parade in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara.

FREE Summer Cinema: Those Fabulous Fifties!!    
 
Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Free Summer Cinema with FREE weekly film screenings under the stars featuring seven classic films from Hollywood's golden era.
 
High Noon, with Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, August 16. 
Dates: Fridays, August 9th - August 23rd.
Times: Movies begin at 8:30 pm, lawn set up at NOON on film day.
More Info: Filmgoers are asked to respect the lawn and fellow attendees. Please bring blankets that are permeable (no plastic, nylon, tarps) and chairs that are low-backed and low to the ground.

Downtown Santa Barbara Pop-Up Concert Series 
 
Downtown Santa Barbara is adding to your Free Summer Cinema Series fun on Friday nights! Rock Aro und the Block, a pop-up concert series, will enhance your summer evenings and help kick your weekend off with the right vibe!
 
 
Dates: Fridays, July 27 - August 23 (no music on August 2 - Viva la Fiesta!).  
Time: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Locations: Vary, along the 1100-1200 block of State Street, near the Courthouse .

provides an opportunity to indulge in local culture and participate in the arts community. Look for previews of forthcoming plays, symphony performances, concerts and dance productions, as well as local up-and-coming artists and performers. 
 
The program offers visitors the chance to experience, in one evening, the diversity of Downtown Santa Barbara's visual and performing arts scene, and is aimed at developing a lively atmosphere downtown as well as showcasing the cultural variety that Santa Barbara has to offer.
 
The 1st Thursday Passport is a printed guide to all of the 1st Thursday attractions, available at participating galleries and venues, MTD shuttles, the Visitors Center and hotel concierge desks.

More than 65,000 spectators will line State Street in anticipation of Santa Barbara's only nighttime parade, the 67th Annual Downtown Santa Barbara Holiday Parade, Presented by Consumer Fire Products Inc! Officially kicking off the holiday season, this signature Downtown Santa Barbara event brings a colossal contingent of high-stepping marching bands, fabulous holiday-themed floats, spectacular performance groups, local personalities, and our soon-to-be-announced Grand Marshal! The Holiday Prince and Fairy, selected from winning artwork best capturing the parade theme, will lead the parade and light up the community Christmas tree on their way down the parade route.
 
Dates: Friday, December 6, 2019 
Time: Step-off at 6:30 pm 
Route: State Street, Sola to Cota
