Important Updates and To-Do Items for the Class of 2020
There are several items that
you must complete
prior to graduating!
Complete the Grad Questionnaire and Final Transcript Request, located in Naviance under “My Surveys.”
Final transcripts will not be sent to colleges until this step is finished.
Final transcripts will be sent after the end of the semester to the
one
college on this survey that you indicate that you plan to attend. In addition, you may request a final transcript to be sent to a college you are waitlisted at. If you are admitted off the waitlist from a college and plan to attend, you must notify your College Counselor, even if this happens during the summer.
Complete the
Merit Aid Form
. Please fill this out for ALL colleges that awarded you scholarship/merit money. If you did not receive merit money from any colleges, we still need for you to complete this survey and check the box that you didn’t receive any scholarship money.
Questions About Admission Decisions
Your College Counselor is still available to help you as you make your final college decision. If you have any questions about being waitlisted, when to deposit at a college, or are anxious about college given the pandemic, please reach out to your College Counselor. Please refer to
this helpful FAQs document
for issues to consider during the COVID-19 times.
Say Thank You
Teachers spent many hours writing personalized letters of recommendations for seniors.
Please make sure that you have thanked your teachers
and provide them with an update on where you will be attending. They are eager to share in your exciting news!
Updates for the Class of 2021
We hope this
letter from the Dean of Admissions
at Worcester Polytechnic Institute brings you comfort. We couldn’t agree more with his message, especially the following excerpt:
“Take care of yourself. Do everything in your power to eat well, exercise, get the rest that you need and, of course, wash your hands and don’t touch your face. Keep up with the passions that make you who you are.
While colleges need to see your transcript, your essay, and letters of recommendation, we’re not admitting a collection of credentials, we’re seeking out the people who we want to welcome into our community.
Look out for your friends and family... Support those who you are living with and be sure to reach out to friends and family who are remote... Do your best to focus on your education. I mean what I say: do the best that you can given the circumstances. But don’t try to do more than that."
In collaboration with Castilleja School and the Bay Area Independent School College Counselors (BAISCC), we put together a list of
FAQs
that will help juniors navigate the many changes to the college admissions landscape, including testing, during this unprecedented time.
SAT/ACT Updates
The College Board added a new test date, September 26, to its existing lineup of dates in August, October, November, and December. Registration for the fall test dates begins during the week of May 26.
Additionally, ACT is offering
free practice tests
as well as free webinars to help students prepare for the ACT.
College Kickstart
Juniors, don’t forget to
register for College Kickstart
by May 15! In addition to helping students with college applications, we are excited to announce that we have partnered with nationally recognized college essay expert, the
College Essay Guy
, who will be providing an essay bootcamp to students. It should be an information packed week!
College Counseling Meetings
It is critical that juniors meet with their College Counselor before May 1 so that we can stay on track with the college counseling process. Visit the
College and Career homepage
for each College Counselor’s calendar link.

Solar panels to be installed on campus
Carondelet is pleased to announce that the school will be installing solar panels on our campus. The project will include installations on rooftops, carports, and deck canopies. This is an important step in Carondelet's green initiative and the campus master plan.
There will be no upfront costs for the school and it is expected to generate utility cost savings in year one.
The preparation work could start as early as this week and the project is expected to be completed before the start of next school year. Given this project is considered essential business, we are able to stay on schedule and hopefully exceed our timeline since the campus is closed.

Parking Permits
Parking permit requests will go live on Monday, April 27. Rising juniors and seniors will be able to access the permit request link via our
Parking Permit webpage
.
On-campus parking is a privilege for many of our juniors and seniors. For the 2020-21 school year, we will be giving priority to our senior students with carpools, followed by single-rider seniors, juniors with carpools, and single-rider juniors, in that order. This system is in place so that we can accommodate as many students as possible in our parking lot.
Please note this is
not
a first-come, first-served application process. All applications before the deadline will be considered.
Please send any parking questions to
Caitlin Main
, Dean of Students.
