Get Ready for Reflections 2019-2020
Reflections is a PTA arts competition that gives students confidence in their abilities to explore ideas and learn through the arts. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Each year thousands of students in preschool through grade 12 create and submit original works in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Students are encouraged to start reflecting on the 2019-20 theme "Look Within" and work on their entries over the summer, as entries will be due sometime mid-October.

We are also once again seeking friendly and reliable
volunteers to help keep those dreaded lines from growing longer! Walk-Through is also a great time to meet and welcome both new and familiar faces to a brand new school year!

Thank You from PPIE!
Thanks to our parent and business supporters, PPIE will donate over $700,000 to Pleasanton schools this year! Due to business matching and support, each school receives MORE in funding each year than they donate. Please visit our website at
www.ppie.org
to see:
- a fun summary video of our impact;
- what we can fund for the coming year;
- and to VOTE on what you would like us to fund.
If you would like to join this effort, please contact us at
[email protected]
- we are recruiting PPIE Ambassadors (at least 1 per grade level) for a few hours each year to build a vibrant community to support our schools. And please support PPIE and your PTSA at August Registration. Thank you again and have a great summer!

Math for Trades Careers
Pleasanton Adult and Career Education offers a short, concise basic math/literacy skills class for students who would like to sharpen their vocational skills. This is an approximately 30 hour program that includes an OSHA 10 certificate, essential for getting onto a construction job site. An additional benefit of this Trade Careers class is that it can then refer directly to the Carpenters Training Committee for Northern California for admittance to the Pre-Apprenticeship class. Without a referral to CTCNC it could take applicants up to two years for acceptance.

Please drop a note to this year's Senior Parent Activities Committee at [email protected] if you'd like to help with
parent-led senior events next year.
Juniors: Senior Portraits & Yearbook Ads
It's easiest to get senior pictures out of the way in the summer, so please plan ahead. It's also easy to make a personalized yearbook ad to honor your favorite senior. Please note that the deadline for senior ads is also in the fall, so it's best to get this out of the way ASAP.
