Downtown Partners is seeking project proposals for the state funded Main Street Challenge Grant. The maximum grant award is $75,000 with a minimum 1:1 cash match required. The Burlington RAGBRAI Planning Committee hopes you're ready to Rally to the Alley this summer. More than 30,000 people from all over the United States, and the world, will be coming to Burlington for the last overnight of the 47th Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI®) Friday, July 26. 
What:  With such a huge number of riders coming into town, safety is at the forefront for Burlington RAGBRAI. In order to keep riders and residents safe, traffic will be detoured at select locations. As riders come into town, Gear Avenue south of the hospital and West Avenue from Gear Avenue to Howard Avenue will be closed. In addition, Mason Road between Roosevelt and Hageman Avenues will be closed to traffic except for those who live along the route. A detour will be set up at Starr Avenue to detour vehicles to Division Street. Local traffic is encouraged to steer clear of the closed sections, especially during heavy bike traffic times between 10 AM and 3 PM on Friday, July 26 and from 6 AM and 9 AM on Saturday, July 27. If you are out driving, please be vigilant and aware of your surroundings at all times throughout the day and night. Please follow these tips and help make sure everyone stays safe during Burlington RAGBRAI.
