A Message from the Director
It has been almost two months since we have transitioned to working remotely. EPICentre's team continues working remotely to serve our students and entrepreneurs.
In response to COVID-19 pandemic, we have partnered with WEtech Alliance and Windsor Essex Small Business Centre (SBC) to launch the
EPIC Nimble Program
to support small businesses currently facing unprecedented challenges brought by the pandemic. Successful applicants will receive mentorship, advisory services and funding up to $4,000 to help them adopt or technology into their current business model so that they can stay sustainable or achieve competitive advantage in the marketplace.
The 2020
RBC EPIC Founders Program
will start virtually on May 19
th
. We are in the process of finalizing the cohort.
This is a 12-weeks accelerator program sponsored by RBC Foundation where successful participants will receive up to $6,000 to work on their business ideas
.
The first cohort of the
EPIC VentureWomen
finally had the chance to pitch their businesses remotely to a panel of judges. We are very proud of the accomplishments from all four teams: Vectorgaze, Ground Culture, BeauxApp and Xpress Career. Congratulations to Ground Culture for winning the cash prize of $3,000 sponsored by the Lucas Imagine Fund.
We have just wrapped up our first
EPIC VentureWomen Program
, a program to support woman-led startups. Due to the closure caused by COVID-19, we have rescheduled the Final Pitch Day, which originally scheduled for March 30
th
to a later date where one team will claim the Top VentureWoman Prize of $3,000 in cash sponsored by Lucas Imagine Fund. Stay tuned for further information.
We are also utilizing the 3D printers
and laser cutter
in our Windsor Mold Group EPIC Makers' Base to help Dr. Jill Urbanic and her team
in collaboration with Valiant to
make
parts for
face shields
. To date, we have donated over 250 face shields to various organizations in our community.
Finally, we would like to reveal our brand new
website
. We have been working hard with our website designer Sebastian Agosta over the past few months on this project. We hope you like it.
Until we see each other in person again, s
tay health
y!
