Greetings!

Happy autumn! We are thrilled to be celebrating our 25th year this year despite the fires, drought, and pandemic – because as a local conservation organization, we know that environmental conservation is key to our community’s strength. Every acre of conserved land is another acre that keeps Grand County so grand, and keeps people coming to our valleys and mountains to support our community.

Over the last 25 years, Colorado Headwaters Land Trust has conserved 8,910 acres of land throughout Grand County. This includes small lakefront properties in Grand Lake, medium-sized homesteads near Fraser and Winter Park, and ranches of all sizes throughout the county, from Berthoud to Rabbit Ears.

We can only do this with your generosity.

This year so far has seen some growth in the CHLT family, including Frank DeLay as a new Board member and Holly Glick as our new Development Director. They were both welcomed with open arms and we look forward to seeing the organization continue to grow and improve with their help.

However, we also said goodbye to Diane LeDuc, our longtime bookkeeper and office manager. She retired over the summer and moved to a state with a warmer climate! We will miss her at the office greatly but are endlessly thankful for the many years she worked with us.

You can keep up with who is on our Board of Directors and staff by visiting our website.

By now you have noticed that we did not have our Annual Event in July! We decided, though, that instead of simply moving our July event online, we would create a new event, one that will hopefully match our previous events, and possibly grow to become our annual celebration of all things conservation in Grand County.

Which is why we are proud to announce:
You can register and start viewing the auction items, sponsors, and event agenda by visiting: handbid.app.link/chlt2020

The event will include a silent auction and other donation opportunities, as well as a series of online panels with key members of the CHLT community, such as our founders, landowners, conservation professionals, long-time supporters, and past and present board members. We look forward to seeing you online!

Please let us know what speakers or special events you would like to see us host in 2021!

Remember that you don’t have to wait for the event to support CHLT!

Your tax-deductible donation will help us continue protecting Grand County’s land and resources, educating others about the value of open spaces, and bringing the community together over our shared love of where we live.
