As a special preview to the
Chicago Gospel Music Festival, DCASE will present a special opportunity for emerging gospel music artists to perform live for a panel of major and independent music label and entertainment industry executives on Saturday, March 16, 6-9pm, at the West Point Missionary Baptist Church (3566 S. Cottage Grove). Applications are currently being accepted from soloists and groups in gospel music and contemporary Christian music genres interested in an audition spot at the event. In addition to the performance opportunity for industry experts, selected artists will be considered for a set at this year's festival. For more information, visit

As part of the 2019 Year of Chicago Theatre, this special designation DCASE is seeking proposals from Chicago's diverse theatre and performance community - including street theatre, stage combat, musical performance, improv and immersive theatre - to present original works at Millennium Park. Companies will have the opportunity to develop site- -specific theatre performances that engage the unique architecture, design, public art and Cloud Gate Plaza as the ultimate stage. Between July--October 2019, DCASE will commission up to 12 theatre companies to complete a one week residency in Millennium Park and produce a minimum of three performances that are free and open to the public. The summertime tradition, Taste of Chicago is now inviting members of Chicago's culinary scene to apply as 5-day participants, 1 or 2-day pop-up participants or as food trucks at the 2019 festival in Grant Park this July 10-14. All Chicago-based restaurants, shared kitchens and food trucks that offer traditional, unique and ethnically diverse menu items are encouraged to apply. As part of the 2019 Year of Chicago Theatre, t
heatre and arts organizations are invited to apply for microgrants to support projects which increase diversity and access in Chicago's theatre sector, with a focus on Chicago's South and West sides. Funded projects might include productions, performances or initiatives taking place in underrepresented neighborhoods, devising theatrical works in collaboration with Chicago residents, and building the capacity of culturally specific organizations. Microgrants will range in size from $500 - $5,000.

This year's CityArts program will include opportunities to apply for general operating grants across all artistic disciplines, as well as project grants in alignment with the City of Chicago's Year of Chicago Theatre. Project grants will support initiatives that have the potential to impact the Chicago theatre sector at large.

The Neighborhood Opportunity Fund (NOF) generates revenue from downtown developments to finance cultural projects that strengthen commercial corridors on the South, Southwest and West Sides. Grants support property owners and tenants who provide cultural experiences by providing funding for storefront build-out, façade repair, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, new construction, roofing repairs, etc. Please visit

Applications accepted on a rolling basis
The DCASE ArtsSpace Program offers access to space at DCASE venues for free public programs organized by Chicago's cultural organizations. Applications for programs at the Chicago Cultural Center are reviewed on a rolling basis and must be submitted at least 120 days prior to the event date.
