Troop Cookie Managers and Leaders:

Now that cookies have arrived, you will start collecting money from caregivers. Here are some Smart Tips and directions:

  • Collect often, deposit often. You don’t want monies being misspent or lost to theft or other calamities!

  • Always fill out a receipt and give the yellow copy to the caregiver. Take care to fill out 100%.

  • Track Girl Payments in Smart Cookies - below are different ways to see the steps



Banking FYI

Bounced Checks:

If your troop deposits a check that bounces during February and March, here are the action steps you need to take:

If your Troop’s bank account is NOT at Bank of America follow the directions and complete & return the Returned / Bounced Check Form . Remember a copy of the returned check must accompany the form.

If your Troop’s bank account is at Bank of America and a check bounces in Feb/Mar no action is needed. The Product Program and Troop Banking Teams will work to recover the funds. We can do this because your troop bank account is a part of the overall account we manage.


ACH Withdrawal:

Remember, we are pulling $1 per package for every package you have on March 2.
Packages sold through direct ship will be part of that count
Funds collected through direct ship will be credited

EX 1: Your troop has 678 packages of cookies. We will take $678 via ACH.

EX 2: Your troop has 678 packages of cookies, 10 were sold via Direct Ship. We will take $678 - $50 = $628 taken via ACH


Council-Scheduled Booth Reminder:

Our Booth Volunteers & Product Program team have worked super hard to secure more booth shifts than ever before! We need your help to ensure Girl Scouts and adults on-site follow all the guidelines set and are super kind to customers.

We have encountered a few problems with scheduling because of change in management and procedure. Our team is working with those locations to work things out, support troops in finding a new location and problem solving.

Booth shifts are still available throughout our council-scheduled area... see those in Smart Cookies .

Should you encounter a problem at a booth, please email cookies@gsksmo.org ASAP. We will reach out and support you with next steps. We don't always seen posts to social media, so please follow this step so we know and can work to support you!
