A gathering to support access to asylum.

Monday, June 21, 1:00 - 2:00 pm, St. Augustine Cathedral, Tucson AZ

Gather at the Cathedral’s outdoor Placita Plaza (150 S Stone); program will be held inside the Cathedral at 192 S. Stone, Tucson, Arizona. (The Cathedral has a free parking lot in back; enter from Church Ave.)

To observe World Refugee Day, express welcome to migrants arriving in Arizona, and to advocate for asylum-seekers still facing dangerous barriers, the #SaveAsylum coalition will hold an interfaith public event on June 21st. Bishop Weisenburger, leaders of other faiths, elected officials and other community members will welcome migrants to the hospitality of our community. We will extend blessings towards newly-arriving asylum seekers, and call for a full restoration of asylum: an increase in processing and an end to exclusionary policies. World Refugee Day is an international celebration on June 20th every year, recognizing the courage of refugees.
