Beaverton Legion
Ice Fishing Derby
|
The Beaverton Legion’s third annual Howard Metherel Memorial Ice Fishing Derby is happening
February 15
on Lake Simcoe. The derby runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m, followed by a Fish Fry dinner and prizes (included in your $20 entry fee) starting at 6 p.m. at the Beaverton Legion.
Multiple weigh in locations will be available from Virginia Beach to Brechin. Prizes for the biggest trout, whitefish and perch.

Playdium recently opened their newest location in Whitby this past November. A place to dream big, be bold and play without limits, Playdium offers classic arcade and video games, virtual reality experiences, bowling, and a thrilling ropes course (with zipline!). Between rounds, visitors can fuel up with snacks (nachos, fries, or a slice of ‘za) or enjoy a sit-down meal at the Playdium Eatery (think Tacos, Sliders, and Bowls).

The ultimate
rock musical
|
We Will Rock You is a quirky, eccentric and heartfelt story of outsiders, and a creative cautionary tale for the cyberage. It reflects the scale and spectacle that marked Queen’s live performances and earned the band its pinnacle position in rock history. Rock as fiercely as you would at the best of Queen’s concerts, right here in Durham Region.
This rock musical experience comes to the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa,

Take a hike...on the Quaker Trail
|
|
The
Quaker Trail
is in the Township of Uxbridge. The trail winds around the Quaker Village residential area in northwest Uxbridge, passing through some of the most historic areas of the town’s past, with access to the Uxbridge Historical Centre (museum). Trail features include a pond, playgrounds and a wide grassy area for picnics and play. Parking is available at the Uxbridge Arena and the Uxbridge Historical Centre.

Take part in Family Fishing Weekend, from
February 15 to 17
. This weekend is one of only four times this year that Canadian residents can fish in Ontario without buying a licence. Winter ice fishing is available in several locations across the region, as local lakes Simcoe and Scugog become an angler’s winter dream. Picture impressive ice fishing villages of portable and permanent huts.
