The crisp mornings and cool evenings remind us that the growing season is coming to a close. We are grateful for those who have donated the fruit (and vegetables) of their labor with us. This truly is a labor of love – pouring effort and energy into foods that will be on the tables of neighbors in need throughout our town, nourishing their bodies and hearts.
We would also like to shine a light on the students in our community who spent time during their summer vacation supporting our food pantry. The Junkermann family held a family food drive and donated over 1,400 pounds of food to our food pantry. The Jacobsen family, earlier in the summer, held an online food drive on our behalf and raised over 1,500 pounds of fresh produce via our online GiveHealthy Platform. We are so impressed with these teens and their dedication to support our community.
We know that fresh produce is the perfect vehicle for essential nutrients. To keep our neighbors’ diets as nutritious as possible, please consider donating fresh foods to our pantry – fruits and vegetables provide the optimal nutrition in each grocery delivery to our clients. Be safe, stay healthy and thank you for your support of our mission.
