Food Drive Throw Down- December 16th
Join the Windsor Heights Public Safety team on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm as Police and Fire personnel host a Food Drive Throw Down with non-perishable food items and toiletries for the Urbandale Food Pantry which serves Windsor Heights.  Police officers will be stationed at Hy-Vee and Firefighters will be stationed at Walmart collecting donated food items.  While this will naturally be somewhat competitive between Police and Fire, we welcome you to swing by both locations and donate!  Come help us support the Food Pantry!  If you cannot come out December 16th, you are welcome to drop off donations to the Windsor Heights Public Safety Building, located at 1133 66th Street, through December 20th.
Small Business Administration offers low-interest federal disaster loans
The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal disaster loans to Iowa businesses and residents affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding that occurred June 6 - July 2, 2018. SBA acted under its own authority to declare a disaster following the denial of the state's appeal for a major disaster declaration on Dec. 5, 2018. The disaster declaration makes SBA assistance available in Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Polk, Story and Warren counties in Iowa. Applicants may apply online, receive additional disaster assistance information and download applications at  https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. The deadline to apply for property damage is Feb. 11, 2019. The deadline to apply for economic injury is Sept. 11, 2019.
