Message from the CEO
Dr Louise Schaper
CHIA for more health professionals:  The Institute’s CHIA program passed another milestone with over 900 people now officially having passed the exam and becoming certified health informaticians. This year, many CHIAs have been sponsored by their healthcare organisations, enabling them to study, pass and celebrate as a team! A change to the program this month will allow many more health professionals to take the CHIA exam. The eligibility criteria was revised to include a broader group of professionals across healthcare. The exam can now be sat by candidates with a degree plus six months’ associated health experience, or three years’ associated healthcare experience with no degree. The Institute’s workforce advancement strategy puts a strong priority on digital health credentialing for the health workforce. If CHIA has been one of your professional goals, you could make it happen this year.

A new pathway to Fellowship for digital health executives has been announced by the Institute. The move is part of the Institute’s foundation year strategy to grow recognition for individuals with depth of knowledge in digital health and health informatics within the ranks of senior executives across the health system. All Fellows and Associate Fellows who are executives will also automatically join the Institute’s Digital Health Executive Network (DHEN), a community bringing together senior executives and leaders from across the digital health ecosystem.
We are listening – take the AIDH survey: The Institute invites Fellows, Members and interested stakeholders to take part in our first survey. Let us know your feedback on a range of topics and help us to ensure we are hitting the mark and providing you with relevant, timely and beneficial information, events and support.  The survey takes around 10 minutes, responses are confidential, and it will help us to continually improve how we work and engage with the digital health community as together we build healthier lives, digitally enabled’.
