Department of Health Care Services 
Long-Term Care Carve-In FAQ
This month, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document to address questions regarding the long-term care carve-in. Effective January 1, 2021, DHCS will  carve in institutional long-term care services  into all Medi-Cal managed care health plan (MCP) model types.
Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) Proposal and LTC Carve-In FAQ  Discussed at DHCS Webinar
On Friday, January 24, 2020, the California Collaborative for Long Term Services and Supports (CTLSS) hosted a webinar with DHCS on the Medi-Cal Healthier California for All D-SNP Proposal (released on December 9, 2019) as well as the Long-Term Care Carve-In FAQ document. Public comments for the D-SNP proposal are due on Friday, January 31, 2020. 

Additionally, DHCS is hosting a meeting on Monday, February 24 to discuss the Medi-Cal Healthier California for All Initiative proposal to transition Cal MediConnect and the CCI to a statewide Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) and D-SNP structure. Outreach specialists presented to Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS) participants and staff at Carson Adult Day Health Care Center in Carson.
12/19   - State outreach staff presented to CBAS staff and beneficiaries at Longlife Adult Day Health Care Center in Los Angeles.
Riverside County

  - An outreach specialist shared information with caregivers at Moreno Valley Health Center's 2019 annual community holiday celebration in Moreno Valley. 
San Bernardino County

  - Outreach specialists hosted a health fair at the Fifth Street Senior Center in San Bernardino. The event included presentations and resource tables from county agencies, local CBAS centers, and Cal MediConnect health plans.
