Hiking Safety Tips
With our temperatures rising, it is important to stay safe and hydrated out on the trails. Make sure you bring lots of water and are aware of the current temperature situation outside before leaving your house. With the current social distancing guidelines and many things being closed, the trails are becoming very busy.
Be sure that you are following these guidelines, from National Park and Recreation Association.
Watch the video above to get the City's safety tips on our beautiful hiking trails.

Be Counted: Census 2020
It has never been easier to respond to the census on your own - whether online at  www.2020census.gov, by phone, or by mail - all without having to meet a census taker.

Video-New Signs Help Restaurants

The City of Glendale is busy distributing signs reminding customers that many restaurants are open for pickup and or delivery. When we are #inthistogether, social distancing can still be delicious.

Restaurants interested in a sign can contact: jpederson@glendaleaz.com.

From Your Councilmember
Greetings!
I hope you and your family remain well, and that you are still observing the basic precautions of staying at home as much as possible, wearing a mask and practicing social distancing when you are out in public, and washing your hands with soap several times per day.  The good news is, these precautions we all have been taking have clearly helped "flatten the curve"!  We are not out of the woods quite yet, but we are now planning towards how we can gradually return to life as we knew it two months ago.  But for now, please continue with all the precautions mentioned above until the Governor's Office issues new directives to follow. The last thing we need is to lower our guard too early and trigger a second wave of COVID-19 infections!
Several non-profit organizations are conducting events to provide area residents food at a significantly discounted price.  In the box to the left you will notice that Produce on Wheels will be at the Glendale/Peoria YMCA tomorrow morning from 8-11 AM.  For a $12 cash donation you can receive up to 70 pounds of fresh produce, fruit, and other food.   Market on the Move and Bountiful Baskets are holding similar events in the upcoming weeks.  Just click on their highlighted names to be taken to their individual websites.  Please share this information with family and friends who may appreciate the chance to help local farmers and at the same time stock their own fridges with fresh, healthy food - at a tremendous price!  These programs are available to every one.

And now, for your viewing pleasure here are a couple of brief videos featuring your's truly!
