Principal's Message
Murwood Families,
If you were unable to make it to Parent Math Night at Parkmead, here is a link to the presentation of WCSD Math Coach, Alex Thomas, courtesy of Alison Gomez, Parkmead Principal. What outstanding talent we have in this district!
A note of congratulations to our former PTA President and Murwood parent, Aimee Moss, who is the new President of the Walnut Creek School District Governing Board! Aimee was such a strong leader for our families here and continues to serve or district tirelessly. A fond goodbye and thank you to board members Barb Pennington and Sherri McGoff. Last but not least, a warm welcome to new board members Heidi Hernandez Gatty and Nithin Iyengar. We look forward to working with you.
A reminder, we are still collecting canned food for the Monument Crisis Center and gift cards for our Giving Tree.
Carol Nenni

News From the Office
As we wind down the year here are a few reminders:
Student Leadership is sponsoring a Food Drive until 12/21. Collection barrels are located inside the front doors of both wings. Let's try to exceed our collection from last year of over 400 lbs!
The Lost & Found still has numerous jackets and sweaters. Anything not claimed by next Friday 12/21 will be donated to charity. Help reduce the number of items that end up in the L&F by labeling your child's clothing.
Friday, 12/21 is a Shortened Day. Dismissal times are TK/K @ 11:30 and 1st-5th grade @ 12:30. Please mark your calendars and be on time to pick up your students.
The Murwood Office will be closed for the Winter Break December 24th thru January 4th. School will resume on Monday, January 7th.
Wishing every Murwood family a fun and happy Holiday Season! See you next year!
Thank you!
Nancy Kaye
Murwood Office Manager

Student Leadership
Hi my name is Laura Parella and I am part of student leadership. I would like to talk to you about our food drive and pajama day. Our food drive has begun and will continue through December 21st. Please donate non-perishable foods in plastic or metal containers. No glass please! For the holidays please consider donating peanut butter, cereal, pasta, baking items (cornbread mix, cookie mix, muffin mix) macaroni and cheese, beef ravioli, canned chili, canned ham, tuna, canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, canned vegetables, canned fruit, dry or canned beans, soup, cranberry sauce, gravy mix packets, vegetable oil, ground offee, hot cocoa. The food collected will be donated to families in need through the Monument Crisis Center in Concord.
As a reward, the student leadership has voted on doing a pajama day on December 21st. It will be a fun day for the whole school, what's not fun about wearing pjs to school, am I right? So please donate to our food drive and make sure to wear your pj's on December 21st! Thank you!
