STUDENTS THAT NEED TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED: If students have not been photographed this school year, please be prepared to have a photograph taken on re-take day. All students must be photographed. Portraits will be needed for your school’s database and student ID's.

STUDENTS THAT WOULD LIKE RE-TAKE PHOTOS: If you want a re-take of your student’s original portrait, please return the original package in its entirety to the photographer on re-take day. A replacement package will be printed and delivered to the school with your student’s new image. If you did not purchase photos from the original picture day and want a re-take, please have the student’s picture taken. If your student had their picture taken recently (September 4th), those proofs/orders should arrive next week.

STUDENTS WHO WANT TO ORDER SCHOOL PICTURES FOR THE FIRST TIME: If you would like to order school pictures for the first time, you can print and use the order form .pdf that is attached or obtain one from the school office. Just fill out the order form and bring it with you to re-take day. STUDENTS WHO DID NOT ORDER SCHOOL PICTURES AND WOULD LIKE TO ORDER AT A LATER TIME: If you do not order your student’s portrait on re-take day, you will still be able to order online for the entire school year. Approximately 3 weeks after the portrait is taken your student will bring home a proof form with their own secure private gallery password. Online orders get mailed directly to your home and will include a shipping charge of $4.50.

If your child is out of school do to COVID, please provide specific details including symptoms, if tested, or when they were exposed to a confirmed case of COVID. Thank you.

STUDENT PICK UP:If you need to pick up your student during the day, we ask that you please send a note with your student in the morning with a time that you will be picking them up. That way we can write them a pass to hand to their teacher when it's time to leave. This avoids having to disrupt classes by calling in looking for a student. If you are giving your student permission to walk to an appointment, that must be stated in the note.

BUS PASSES: If your student will be riding the bus home with a friend, please send a letter in the morning indicating who he/she will be going home with. We will then issue a bus pass.

VIRTUAL/BLENDED STUDENTS AND PARENTS ONLY
For our Virtual/Blended students during class time:

1.  It is very important that the student is on time to class. Students, please be waiting for a few minutes before the start of class time in order to click on at the beginning of class. The teachers are taking attendance and beginning class with activities. When a student joins the class late, it causes a disruption both on-line and for the students who are in-person.

2. Students need to have their cameras on during class unless the teacher says otherwise.   The teachers need to see the students when they are taking attendance and during instruction.

3. The Chat feature during Google Meet is for asking questions of the teachers or answering their questions.  It is not for the students to talk to each other during class.

Chromebook Problems? Please follow these steps:
If a student is having tech problems with the device, you, or a parent/guardian, should send an email to techsupport@badger.k12.wi.us. Please include the words "Virtual Student Tech Help" in the subject line. Explain what is happening in as much detail as possible, including what you were doing when the problem happened. We will respond with some things to try but ultimately you may have to bring the device to Chromebook Corner. If we cannot fix it quickly we will issue a loaner while yours is getting repaired. We configure the loaners on a case by case basis so they can wait while we do that or come back.
DRESS CODE REVIEW
Please take a moment to review the Student Dress Code as outlined in the Student Handbook. The handbook is part of every student's agenda.
SPOOF SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
We are currently experiencing spoof social media accounts that seem to be posting inappropriate things about Lake Geneva Middle School and our students. The accounts are often using our school logo. The sites are using words such as “tea”, “shade” and “drama” and are encouraging students to gossip and share secrets about one another.

This is happening not only to Lake Geneva Middle School but schools across the country. We have been informed that some of these accounts may be operated by individuals who are not in our community or even in the United States. If a student submits gossip to one of these accounts, they're effectively identifying themselves to the unknown account holder as students in our school and residents in our community.

While we are working with law enforcement and taking cybersecurity measures to try and resolve this matter. We encourage you to speak with your child about the dangers of these types of sites.
