As a member of the Canadian Securities Administrators, the ASC works to improve, coordinate and harmonize the regulation of Canada’s capital markets.

The Joint Serious Offences Team (JSOT) Alberta is an enforcement partnership between the ASC, and the RCMP Financial Integrity program. JSOT combines the ASC’s expertise in capital markets and with law enforcement policing skills to investigate and prosecute serious violations of the law using provisions of the Securities Act (Alberta) and Criminal Code.

Reporting to the Manager, JSOT, this position is responsible for conducting complex investigations, individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, into breaches of Alberta securities law and/or criminal law.

The Team Lead, Trust Compliance provides leadership, guidance and support to the Trust Compliance team and oversees the timely processing of annual licence renewal and financial submissions, and the monitoring of care and maintenance and prepaid trust funds. The Team Lead is responsible for the maintenance of data integrity and is the go-to source for all reports related to financial submissions of BAO licensees.
