Grace by Lou Longmire

You don't deserve it. You can't earn it. It doesn't come when you ask for it. Grace just happens- and you just accept it.

Today, I experience Grace all my waking moments.  When I'm greeted with yet another spectacular day in which crisp luscious air fills my lungs as I breathe in the breath of life, I experience Grace.  When I meet friends and see their smiles at my arrival, I experience Grace.   When I look out and see Gods creation working and in process as it should be, every day, I experience Grace.  When something unexpected, undeserved, not asked for, not paid for, not even thought of...  is bestowed upon me and turns out to be exactly what I need... I experience the Grace of God.

Last week I visited the National Cemetery at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, to commemorate Memorial Day.  I slowly drove around the endless fields of white headstones pondering the meaning of it all.  There were quite a few people there visiting loved ones as well as the fallen heroes.  I noticed up on one of the hillsides, a family walking back to their car.  With them were two children playing and giggling and racing around the rows of grave markers.  They didn't know.  They didn't care.  They were here, now, and fully living.  They were laughing and chasing one another as kids do.  My heart filled with joy seeing this display of aliveness.  I was gifted in that moment with the Grace of our Creator.  All is ok.  All is right with the world-  All is right in my world.  I smiled and giggled myself a bit and I wept-  I was filled with the Grace of God.

A few weeks ago I visited the Unity Spiritual Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  We talked a bit about the concept of Grace.  I shared a short video clip that demonstrates what I see as a real life, unfiltered, unedited, unscripted and very raw view into a moment between two human beings.  I can think of no better display of Grace.  I want to share it with you again today.

In September of 2018, Amber Guyer, a Dallas, Texas police officer, came home late from her work shift.  She testified that she mistakenly went to Botham Jean's apartment- thinking it was her own. The door was ajar and she saw this strange man in what she thought was her apartment. She shot and killed him. She was tried, found guilty of murder and sentenced to 10 years in prison. At the sentencing phase, the victims family was given the opportunity to address the accused and share how this crime has affected them personally.

What follows in the YouTube clip attached below is the statement given by the victims brother, Brandt Jean...  what follows is-  An Exercise in Grace.

SANDI ANDERSON LUT REFECTIONS!!

Imagination- I embrace my visualization and imagination to create new possibilities in all areas of my life, to be the best person and the best "Christ I can be."

June is here, many are dreaming of a real vacation time as the country is easing off "pandemic mode". Kids are out of school, most have practiced imagining, constructing what they want to do; seeing people again, playing, sleeping in, family vacation, or their first work experience. Imagination is number 6 of our twelve powers it is our power of Conception, Vision, and Envision based on our senses, feelings, thoughts and beliefs.

Conception: Any constructed idea that one can conceive comes from the One Source. Weare equally able to imagine the very best as the worst. The more we practice imagining the best, this innate ability to do so becomes easier. We can hold a vision of a friend's wholeness in their entire being during an illness. We can turn around a nagging imagery of a car breakdown on a long trip by visioning that the trip will be safe.
Vision: One can use the visioning power of imagination to dream of the perfect car, job, new house, seeing all "in our minds eye" what has not happened yet.. It is Seeing yourself as If...you already have the perfect car, or job. It gives you a chance to check things out or trying on that new job to see how it fits. The negative side, imagination is what powers worry. Parents use imagination to worry about what can happen to their children.

Embodiment: Embodiment or being a living expressionof qualities needed for the idea to become a reality is the counterpart to manifestation. JesusChristdid this, often being describedas "the IncarnateWord". "The Wordbecame flesh." (John1:14). Imagination is possibly the absolute greatest tool for us to accept and claim our Divine Identity. The future we have been envisioning demands one thing of us: that webe that person who can live into that vision.

We can now vision the high vibrations of Peace & Love, going into the collective consciousness to raise the vibrations of fears to be ideas and transformation in to a Greater Future.

WHAT A GIFT!

Our annual Unity of Eau Claire Thrift Sale was held on May 20 -22 at Sue Carlson's house. Thank you to all who donated items and those who asked their friends, neighbors and family to donate items. We even had a couple of members dumpster dive for items to sell. Without donated items there wouldn't be a sale. Also a huge thank you to those who worked the sale, assisted with advertising and taking down the sale: Dale, Jacquie, Carol, Bonnie, Mary LaTourelle, Marion, Marnie, Sherri, Diane, Kathy, Rev. Sandra, Jan, Heather, Sandi and Sue as well as Jody and Sue's friend Karen. Drum roll..........we netted $2,059. A rousing success!!!

This money is part of our budget and goes into our General Fund to pay for Unity of Eau Claire expenses.

TECHNOLOGY REPORT

Did you know we have been updating our technology piece by piece the last few years. Yes, the learning curve has been more than we anticipated, but we are getting there. Dale Staebell has been a major part of this transition. On the team are also Dennis Anderson, Sue Carlson, Therese Schutte and Timothy Haukeness.  We now have four laptops, iPad with external microphone, new microphones and updated software. The next goal is to get our sanctuary sound system updated through a Unity Worldwide Ministry grant. We want to give you the best Facebook Livestream and ZOOM meeting experience possible. In the pictures you will see a few of our updated items. The upper left picture is in the sanctuary and is the updated computer and projector. In the photo on the top right is the classroom where we hold hybrid meetings with ZOOM and in person book study, board meetings and soon children's classes. The bottom photo is all the other equipment which is making better sound and pictures for our Facebook Livestreaming and ZOOM meetings. Many of these items were purchased through our designated savings account where members donated for specific items. Please consider a donation to our technology fund as we have to match the UWM grant and we could use your support. This is a new time in this world and without the technology we could not give our members what they are looking for in their spiritual growth.
