Twin Rivers Unified School District
Jan. 28, 2020
Our mission: To inspire each student to extraordinary achievement every day.
Twin Rivers Board of Trustees says no to school closures, but yes to school reconfigurations and one school consolidation (Noralto and Harmon Johnson Elementary).
1. Present & Approve - School Closures
Twin Rivers Unified School District has encountered a budgetary impact based on declining enrollment, and approval of the superintendent's recommendation to implement necessary fiscal measures, school closures and other prudent actions to best preserve fiscal integrity and increase student achievement at the district. As such, the Board of Trustees was asked to take action on the resolutions listed below.
On December 10, 2019, a majority of the Board requested a resolution to be developed by staff and agendized to limit the number of cannabis dispensaries within the district. A draft resolution was provided on January 14th and the Board of Trustees provided feedback which has been incorporated into this resolution.
The Board adopted Resolution No. 808 regarding the placement of cannabis dispensaries in the boundaries of the district.
The Board of Trustees approved Amplify as the district's curriculum for transitional kindergarten through 8th grade, general education and Transitional Academic Programs (TAP).
