December 14th, 2018

The last few weeks at Mt. Horeb have been filled with songs of joy and hopeful expectation. M Kids celebrated Jesus' birth with a fun Jingle Jam evening. Thousands of people came out in dreary weather to Mt. Horeb to worship and enjoy excellent performances at the Christmas musical, All Is Bright. In the midst of all this great celebration, we're now into our third week of our sermon series, Rejoice: Songs for a Weary World.

This week, we're listening to a song sung by a man named Simeon upon meeting the baby Jesus. Simeon's song is one of a lifetime of great expectation and hope for the messiah's arrival. We'll be looking at scripture to see how his song and desire for the Christ's presence is much the same as our own need to prayerful anticipate and desire the Holy Spirit's presence in our own lives.

Pastor Nick will be speaking in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Pastor Jeff will be speaking in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services. Come join in song and scripture with us as we rejoice in the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. See you Sunday!

The Compassion Experience

Coming to Mt. Horeb on January 18th-21st, this Experience is a landmark presentation visiting churches, schools, and other venues across the country. The experience immerses guests in the reality of daily life in poverty that millions of children face around the world. It brings visitors into cultures completely outside of their own. Most importantly, the Experience presents the blessing of hope as children are sponsored through Compassion's world-class child development program. When deployed in a parking lot, the structure allows guests to take an immersive tour through replicas of the homes, environments, and stories of two children who have been a part of Compassion's program. Each guest is equipped with an iPod Touch and headphones to guide them through the Experience. At the end of the tour, guests enter a World Impact Room where they can view photos and information about children of all ages who are waiting for sponsors. As God leads, guests have the opportunity to sponsor one of these precious children on the spot. Registration for the Experience is online at compassionexperience.com.
