New Exhibit at UAF Rasmuson Library

Fall Flora & the Artist's Book
Books Inspired by Andie Thrams

In August 2018 Andie Thrams, former Alaskan and well known book artist now living in California, came to Fairbanks to teach a workshop in our NBG studio. For three days, workshop participants explored Andie's techniques in drawing, watercolor, calligraphy, pen and ink. Artists were inspired by a walk through the boreal forest, and the books in this display reflect the participants' love of the local landscape, as well as the breadth of Andie's inspiration. Stop by to see these beautiful books.

Thanks to the following artists for lending their books:  Charlotte Bird,  Ree Nancarrow,  Dawn Marie Crass,  Corlis Taylor,  Oralee Nudson,  Chris Greenfield-Pastro,  Nancy Hausle-Johnson, and  Mary Bee Kaufman.

IMPRINTS!

Guild members have been busy creating the elegant casements that will house IMRINTS, the first publication of Northwoods Press. Twice a week volunteers join in the studio to produce the casements. We work one step at a time, making all 35 casements in assembly-line style of production. It's not too late to join and participate in this very gratifying community project. We meet on most Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3-5pm.

Announcements of work sessions come to your mailbox as NBG NOTES. If you are already signed up, you will continue to receive the notices.
