Santa Fe Catholic's National Art Honor Society's Christmas Parade Float
The National Art Honor Society presented the storybook" Madeline's Christmas" by Ludwig Bemelmans as their entry to the annual Lakeland Christmas Parade. The parade's theme was "A Storybook Christmas."
George Karatzas, Josiah Valery and Cooper Widick carried Santa Fe Catholic H.S.'s banner to lead the Crimsonettes and our Christmas float throughout the streets of Lakeland. It was an exciting evening for everyone. The streets on the parade route were filled with thousands of cheering people many of whom were children. They enthusiastically applauded our students. Jaleinys Castro played the part of Madeline. Clara Byrne, Marina Copley, Nicole Delgado-Velez, Claire Mense. Veronica Polanco, and Nicole Targia, played the part of Madeline's roommates. Katelyn Eden portrayed the Nun in charge of the girls. The set was the replica of the open Madeline book and a sparkling Eiffel Tower against a starry night. The Crimsonettes, Katie Bruschi, Sophie Hopkins, Hailey Odom, Vanessa Satariano, Giselle Strong and Katie Young danced their Santa Fe Catholic routines. Joshua Young also walked with the music. Thanks to Mrs. Monica Valery who drove her truck that pulled our float and to Mrs. Bruschi who organized and helped with the Crimsonettes and the float.
Presentation from SCAD Savannah College of the Arts
Chloe Blake of SCAD Savannah College of the Arts presented the college and its programs to Mrs. Pfund's Art classes last Friday our students were impressed by the many courses the college offers. The school is in the heart of historic Savannah and some of its classrooms and studios are housed in renovated historic buildings. The presentation was met with interest by our students, some of whom requested more information about applying to the college. |
