Greetings!

It is an exciting time at Challenge Air. We had such an overwhelming response to our first virtual fly day that we decided to do it again.

Children and youth with special needs between the ages of 7 and 21 are invited to join us virtually on Saturday, June 12th, 2021.

Registration is now open. Hurry!

This event is limited to the first 400 NEW participants and is already half full. Please note, only new families will receive a virtual reality kit.

Each registered co-pilot will receive a virtual reality kit with a VR headset, Challenge Air T-shirt, wings, and certificate. Details, including a link to login to the event, will be sent along with your kit.

This event is offered at no cost to our co-pilots through the generosity of our donors and sponsors. Consider making a financial donation. Twenty dollars will sponsor a co-pilot's virtual reality kit. With your help, we can continue to do great things in the lives of children with special needs.
Challenge Air Co-Pilot Naomi (age 13)
Since 1993, we have served over 36,000 children and youth like Naomi who have been able to experience the gift of flight through our virtual and in-person fly day programs.

At Challenge Air it's all about the children and how we can change their perspectives and break down limitations.
Our Founder, Rick Amber, experienced firsthand the power of flight, "When the kids get the opportunity to actually fly an airplane, they realize they can do anything they want to. All limits are self-imposed.
Flying is a life-long achievement."
In Person Fly Days are BACK!
We are excited to announce we will have our first ever Fly Day in Spokane, WA on Saturday, August 14th, 2021.

This event is hosted by Historic Flight Foundation located at Felts Fields.

Pilots, Volunteers and families who have kids with special needs between the ages of 7 -21 can sign up on our website.

Space is limited on a first come first serve basis for our participants so don't delay.
Look for more scheduled cities and events coming soon!

Calling all Pilots...
If you are a Challenge Air Pilot and have not yet completed the survey regarding upcoming fly day planning, we would love your feedback.

We want to hear all about what's important to you as we navigate unchartered procedures due to the COVID pandemic.

Your input is important to our future. We often call our Challenge Air Pilots the ones who make the “magic happen”. Without YOU, there is no Challenge Air.
Consider taking a few moments to share your opinions by clicking the link below.

Pilot Spotlight
Meet Volunteer Pilot, Rich Barclay
Rich has been involved with Challenge Air since 2013 at Centennial airport in Denver Colorado. He flew with Angel Flight West for several years before flying for Challenge Air.

Rich has been flying for 52 years and has been fortunate enough to accommodate over 10,000 hrs of general aviation time. He has been flight instructing since 2001 and also flies with Young Eagles.
He and his wife own a Cessna 210. They have flown to Alaska, Mexico, Cuba, Central America, the Bahamas and all over the USA. "We enjoy Loreto, Mexico a lot. It's an easy trip, great food, warm beach and lots of gray whales."

Rich, like so many of us, is looking forward to a better year ahead.
"There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up."
-John Holmes
