Metabolic Supportand Bitter Melon Launched!
We gave you a sneak peak in our summer newsletter but we've officially launched David Winston's Metabolic Support formula, and Bitter Melon fruit ( Mormordica charantia), both of which help support healthy blood sugar levels already in the normal range. Most Bitter Melon extracts are made from powdered herbs, but ours is extracted from freshly dried whole fruit in small batches.

Pancreaid™ Reformulated!
In other product news, David has reformulated Pancreaid , which supports pancreatic function, and also supports healthy blood sugar levels.
Herbal Support Kits Are The Perfect Gift

Each Herbal Support Kit contains selected solutions to common concerns packaged attractively in our signature gift box. The Stress Support Kit is a great idea for the holiday season; containing four best-selling herbal formulas to promote balance in the face of every-day stress: Daily Adapt™ - promotes energy and balances stress, Serenity Compound™ - support for stress, Tension Relief™ - supports a calm mind, and Phytocalm™ - promotes restful sleep. David Winston's guidance in the package explains when to select each product.

What's Spagyric?...The H&A Bio-Specific™ Process Explained

If you are one of many who have told us our products are a cut above every other brand you have used, our Spagyric process, coupled with David's extraordinary formulation abilities, explains why. Our BIO-SPECIFIC™ product formulation process is based on knowledge of the chemistry, character and energetics of plants gained from traditional wisdom. This knowledge is combined and balanced with leading modern research and decades of clinical experience.
David Winston's Students: Where Are They Now?

For each newsletter we interview one of David Winston's former s
tudents to find out what motivated them to learn about herbal medicine and how they are usin g their training.

Our interview this autumn is a revisit with Maia Toll. Mai a is an author, he rbalist and graduate of David Winston's Herbal Studies program. Her interview in 2014 was so interesting we decided to check back to see what's new with her.
We're B Corp Re-certified!

Certified B Corporations meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. In 2010 we were the first herbal supplements company to become a Certified B Corp™, demonstrating that we use business as a force for good: making products that are beneficial for people in a way that is good for the earth.

Our most recent B Corp Re-Certification, a process we go through every three years, is complete... and our B-score increased to 99! We are proud to be part of a community of like-minded corporations that put people and planet first. It's been an eventful few years: We have increased the percentage of Certified Organic herbs we source, we participated in Terracycle Brigades, donated products to those in need, and fine tuned company policies to reinforce our commitment to social and environmental good.

Looking forward to the next three years we will continue to make an impact delivering on our mission to create herbal supplements that are of the highest quality, manufactured from plant material that originates in harmony with the environment: organically grown, ethically wild-crafted or sustainably harvested.

Speaking of B Corp, our CEO Beth Lambert was interviewed for this Vitamin Retailer article on natural products companies getting certified.
American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association Annual Conference

H&A CEO Beth Lambert has several veterinarians in the family, so it's no surprise that the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association Annual Conference has been an annual event for us for many years.

This year, as in many circles, a hot discussion topic was the somewhat controversial use of cannabis for small animals. We also had some interesting conversations about David Winston's Reckless Blood Tonic™ as an alternative to the proprietary Chinese formula Yunnan Baiyao. Several vets included Yarrow (an ingredient in Reckless Blood Tonic ) in their presentations as an alternative to Yunnan Baiyao. Reasons given for the substitution were that certain proprietary Chinese formulas do not list all their ingredients. And, one of the known ingredients in Yunnan Baiyao, Tienchi ginseng, has had some supply issues. We discontinued using it when we could not find a supply that passed our aflatoxin specifications.
Congratulations to All the Latest Winners of Great Prizes
