USC Experts Show How L.A. Can Obtain a Fossil Fuel-free Future

L.A.’s goal of converting to entirely renewable energy by 2045 could be within reach, according to a new study. USC Price Professors Adam Rose and Dan Wei worked on it with the city’s Department of Water and Power and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Awards and Recognition
Thanks to a £200,000 grant from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, Wändi Bruine de Bruin will lead a team to help humanitarian organizations improve risk communications and intervention programs.
 
Price students Kyra Chan and Elise Wimberly received First Prize at the 2021 SCymposium Awards, which were presented by USC Undergraduate Programs, Office of the Provost. Their team won the Social Sciences category for its USC Student Food Access project.

Jakub Hlavka was awarded a 2021 Research Starter Grant in Health Outcomes Research from the PhRMA Foundation for his project titled: “Studying the Drivers of Biosimilar Coverage by Commercial Plans and Estimating the Social Welfare Gain from Biosimilar Entry in the United States.”

The METRANS Transportation Center Student Team won second place in the Post Secondary, Transportation Safety category at the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) 2020 Student Video Contest. The team’s video emphasizes the importance of traffic safety initiatives, specifically Vision Zero Los Angeles.
 
Diana Lee (MHA ‘97) was appointed to Account Lead of the California portfolio for Cambria Solutions, a national management and technology consulting firm.
