A final word from Andy
The time has come, and this is my final weekly email. My time here has certainly been eventful and challenging on the one hand, but due to the pandemic has also been event-less as we lost at least 5 retreats/mission trips as well as the ability to meet in person for a large chunk of my time here.
Despite all that, it has been a joy to be here and meet so many wonderful people. I'm particularly grateful for the support I've received over the last few months when depression hit me hard in March. I also know my openness has created opportunities for others to talk about mental health. Please continue to have those conversations.
This Sunday we will confirm 7 of our students as they publicly profess their faith on Pentecost Sunday. My prayer as I leave is that they, and all of us, will continue to be guided by the Holy Spirit and let the fire of Christ burn brightly and passionately in our lives.
Our young people are tremendously talented, inquisitive, faithful, compassionate and much more. Whenever the next Youth Director comes on staff, he or she will journey along the path of faith with them. As the search process plays out, please pray for wisdom and discernment, and ask God what support the new person might need, but be aware that God might tell you to be part of the answer!
I will continue to hold you all in prayer beyond Sunday, and wish you all the depth, richness and challenge of God's blessing. If you want to keep in touch, I'm on Facebook and Twitter, my cell number won't change.
Thank you and God bless,
Andy
