The Mother of all Celebrations!
Come Join Us This Sunday!
This Sunday, we are celebrating those who are mothers or have a mother-presence to others. Come and join us as we give thanks to God for all the hard work, love, and dedication mothers have given to their families. The Bear Creek Angels community Choir will be performing; we have a special video presentation; and we have special gifts for moms!
This is a great opportunity to invite a friend, family member, coworker, or anyone else who you think should be apart of the celebration!

As a part of our new Sermon Series "Being Compassionate", Pastor Leo is challenging our congregation to complete a compassion card that was given out last week. Each card has one of several different situations that real people in our community are facing; the challenge is to empathize and answer the questions.
If you participated in that activity, please bring back your card this week. Pastor Leo would like to see some of your anonymous answers and use them as reference in a future sermon during this series. We will have new cards with different situations each week.
If you didn't receive a card, you can pick one up this Sunday or any day during the week in the church office.

Summer camp at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center is fast approaching! Our current student registration number has doubled over last year! Because of this, we are in need of 1 more male adult volunteer to spend this fun and active week with our students. We will be attending camp the week of June 9-14. Bonus: your registration fee is covered by the church!

MidPoint: New Study for Adults

MidPoint beginning at 6:30pm

Pastor Leo Tyler is leading a class entitled "Here, Now, With You" at MidPoint. Bring your Bible and a notebook. The basis for this study is a book written by Gregg Louis Taylor called, "Here, Now, With You: Six Movements of Compassion for Life and Leadership." No need to purchase the book, but there are several available at the church office. (You can also order on Amazon by
clicking here.) Join us in the FLC at 6:30pm on Wednesdays. This class will follow the sermon series for May of the same title.

A Special Hour of Prayer & Praise

Prayer Garden
This month, The Hour of Prayer & Praise will be held in the Prayer Garden on Tuesday, May 14. The focus will be on dedicating the prayers from the BCUMC Prayer Wall which is located in Room FLC 101. Pastor Leo and Susie Morales will perform the service of burying the prayers as done in Jerusalem at the actual Western Prayer Wall. Come be a part of the dedication, singing and praise. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Our next "Playgroup" (featuring The Children's Museum of Houston) is Friday, May 17, 2019, in the Treehouse (Room FLC 201). This is a free event to help promote early literacy to all children ages 0-2 years old (siblings are always welcome).

The Family Missions Committee will start collecting your donations on Sunday, June 9 through Wednesday, June 12 from 9:00am to 4:00pm. All proceeds from the sale will benefit our many outreach missions including Angel Tree and Day of Thanks & Giving. We appreciate all of your donations, but please no non-working TV's or appliances.
The Rummage Sale will take place on Friday & Saturday, June 14 & 15 from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Volunteers are needed to help run the sale and also during the set up/pricing days. If you would like to help please contact Betsy Ayers or sign up in the church office.
