OffiCenters Monthly Newsletter
Featuring Opportunities for Creative Collaboration

Notes From Lori
Happy Holidays and so begins the most wonderful time of the year! Thank you to everyone  that helped us make 2018 memorable as we have added two new workspaces this year and over 150 new members to our community.

Thank you to all of the members and staff who nominated OffiCenters for the Twin Cities Metro IBA Founders Award. I was shocked and humbled to be recognized for providing a consistent and long-term impact on our local community and for being a foundation of continuous inspiration to make the Twin Cities a better place for small businesses. We had a great night celebrating with the OffiCenter team.

November marked the first installment of our Work Awesome training experience, a quarterly meeting for our Office Service Specialists with special Coach, Trainer and Park OffiCenter member Judy Zimmer. Her trainings will focus on our 2018 word of the year: engagement. We are preparing our team for another year of networking, learning and fun.

We start our holiday luncheons this week and I hope to see you in the workspaces as we visit all locations and bring our traditional Lasagna extravaganza to all of you. Let us know if you can attend as it is our special thank you and a chance to toast the New Year together. And remember to wear your holiday finery and perhaps an ugly sweater especially for our Union Plaza Ugly Sweater contest.

Join me in ending 2018 on a high note as we celebrate the successes and opportunities that have come our way. Next year, you will have 7 workspaces that you can call your own as we do a complete remodel at Edina and a surprising update at Park. It's going to be a busy year. Have a safe and happy holiday filled with warm wishes and all the joys the season brings to you, your family and loved ones.

In the Spotlight
And, the WINNER IS . . OffiCenters!

OffiCenters received our holiday gift a little early this year, when we were named the Founders Award Winner at the annual  Twin Cities Indie Business Awards. The Founders Award honors a business that has made a consistent and long-term impact on the local community and that is making the Twin Cities a better place for independent businesses . Other finalists included: Electric Fetus, St. Paul Farmers Market and Wet Paint. We are proud of the contribution we have made to the Minnesota business community for the past 37 years and look forward to what the future holds for us and the Twin Cities business community.
Lights, Lights & More Lights!

If you are looking for some great places to check out lights and some fun holiday events Minnesota has some of the best venues full of seasonal cheer and decorations! See what locations we're named to the top 8 for the best holiday lights by TripSavy HERE.
The Gift of Giving

OffiCenters has always believed in giving back
to our local communities. We're proud of our giving tradition and it's in this spirit that we'll donate the funds used for Donut Day on Dec. 19 and 26 and Jan. 2 to our OneCommunity Partners. We've partnered again with Hats & Mittens, to "help spread the warmth" for Twin Cities children. Bring in a hat & mitten set or a cash donation ($10 buys a new set) and help warm the head, hands and heart of kids throughout our state. Look for collection boxes in all of our locations. We are supporting Christmas in the City by adopting a family in need and providing them with a special holiday and we will make our annual contribution to Second Harvest Heartland on behalf of OffiCenters and our members. Whether you donate things or money or time, giving back, especially during the holidays, is the best gift you can give yourself. The old adage, "it's better to give than receive" is true!

Welcome to our newest OneCommunity Member Faces of TBI! Their mission to be a voice for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and to bring awareness to the world. TBI is the leading cause of death and disability in the World, yet hardly anyone knows what a TBI is, let alone aware of the lasting effects. Every 11 seconds, someone in the US will suffer a TBI. Those numbers are staggering! Their hope is to educate survivors, caregivers, friends and family, as well as the medical community. We look forward to supporting Amy and her team!
