Membership Renewal Time!
Over the past year, POWER has demonstrated what passionate and dedicated women can do in our community. Because of your support, our Women’s Initiative Group was able to make a positive impact in the lives of children and families in our community and is continuing to grow both in number and impact...
  • Over 100 members strong
  • Over $27,000 has been allocated back into our community since 2014
  • $6,000 awarded to 9 different organizations through grant process last year
  • Over $20,000 will be awarded this year
  • Our Kindergarten Tutoring Program is placing over 80 professional and retiree volunteers filling 42 slots per week donating over 900 hours in support of our EmPOWERed program.
  • Various Volunteer Opportunities
  • On going support of the Shelby County United Way and their partner agencies

POWERful Volunteer Opportunity
Join us for our POWERful Day of Action Friday June 21st anytime between 8:30 am - 2:00 pm. POWER members will be painting at Whittier to help them prepare for their transition to preschool classrooms.
Kindergarten Tutoring 2019-20
We still have some slots available for the 2019-20 school year at Emerson and Longfellow Mon-Thurs. 9-10 am. If you are able to volunteer once a week or once every other week contact Amy at Awest@ShelbyCountyUnitedWay.org or call the United Way office at 492-2101. Join the fun! The impact is real!

  Shelby County United Way Update
  • United Way Kids Zone & the Great Downtown BBQ-Fest is Sat. June 29th 11:00 am - 10:00 pm.
  • Imagination Library - 70.4 % of all Shelby County children under the age of 5 are receiving free books.
  • 24 Day of Action projects are almost complete.
