Thankful for Our Victory Living Family

The Annual Meeting and Thanksgiving Dinner was held on Thursday, November 15, 2018. With 150 people in attendance, including clients and their families, staff, board members, volunteers and other Victory Living members, everyone enjoyed a holiday feast prepared by participants in the Community Inclusion/ADT Program. Complete with turkey, all the fixin's, and dessert, it was a memorable Thanksgiving filled with love and laughter.
Client of the Month: David Tennant

For this month's client spotlight, Victory Living Programs (VLP) is featuring one brave and special individual, David Tennant, who experienced a terrible accident in June and is currently recovering. "David is working on his rehabilitation," said his mom Marty. "He's accomplished a lot in six months, he's progressed, and it's amazing. With a lot of care and prayers, we're going to get to a full recovery!"  Read On

Obtaining or renewing your registration or driver license?
Florida motorists now have the ability to make a donation of their choice of $1.00 or more when renewing a driver license or vehicle registration. Simply check off "The ARC of Florida" from the list of charitable organizations and input the donation amount of your choice. Victory Living Programs is the ONLY affiliate of The Arc of Florida located in the greater Ft. Lauderdale area (Broward County). As such, 75% percent of the donations received by The Arc of Florida are returned back to the local chapters of The Arc of Florida, like Victory Living Programs, to directly fund services for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Sports Update: Flag Football & Bowling
Congratulations to all our flag football teams that participated in the State Special Olympics Fall Classic at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports from November 9-11, 2018. The Vikings brought home the bronze medal and the Vipers brought home the silver medal.

Next up, we have 10 bowlers who will be going to Orlando on December 7-8, 2018 to participate in the Special Olympics State bowling tournament. Basketball season is also in full swing. We have the following teams who will be competing at the County basketball tournament at Nova Southeastern University on Saturday, December 1, 2018: Mix (unified 5x5), Shooters (traditional 5x5), Basketmakers (3x3), Hoopmasters (3x3), Players (team skills), and Ballers (team skills).
