Come Pray for Christmas
Pastor Alex's 2nd Tuesday Prayer Gathering on December 11 will focus on praying for Christmas: for heart revival among Carmel families, for our Carmel Christmas Eve services, for those struggling with loss, for  neighbor churches, for the global Church and more!
Praise for Open Hands
We praise God for these recent acts of service and generosity:
For the generous investment of time and labor by  the Carmel team that recently helped homeowners restore their hurricane damaged homes in Lumberton. Planning is underway for more trips to serve in Lumberton in the new year - stay tuned!

For the thoughtfulness of several Discipleship Communities (DCs) who blessed our Sunday morning team of Preschool volunteers with a delicious assortment of brunch goodies. Those DCs included Young Families, Parenthood, Light House, Hills & Valleys, and WEE Connect.
For the generosity of our WEE School ministry families, who created 30 "baby bundle baskets" for new moms served by the Charlotte Women's Clinic (formerly the Pregnancy Resource Center). And to the Women's Clinic team who served up morning coffee to these families to show their appreciation.
For the thoughtfulness of our Carmel Christian School 9th Graders who wrote 150 notes of encouragement and prepared 30 plates of homemade cookies as part of a Christmas Encouragement Project for the men served by  local ministry partner, Charlotte Rescue Mission.

For the 30 volunteers who gave a few hours (and some a few days) to assist our facilities team with decorating Carmel for the Christmas season.

Looking Ahead

Serve Breakfast + Help Kick Off NEW Program (Dec 14)
Our ministry partner Congregations for Kids (CFK) has invited churches to serve breakfast to Child Welfare social workers at five DSS locations across Mecklenburg County on Friday, December 14. This breakfast celebrates our city's social workers and raises awareness about CFK's new Socialight program, designed to allow groups, families, and/or individuals within the church to "adopt" a Child Welfare social worker. Why? Stats show that a consistent social worker in the life of a foster child drastically improves the child's chances of being placed permanently in a home. Learn more and sign up here
Collection Benefits Vulnerable Families (through Dec 30)
Through the end of the year, the collection bins along the Neighbors wall in our Gathering Space will support vulnerable children and families. You can provide these items to help create a one-of-a-kind shopping experience for a foster child at Carmel's Mosaic Style with Love Store OR provide these items to make baby bundles for new moms served by the Charlotte Women's Clinic (formerly the Pregnancy Resource Center).
Gather at Carmel with family and friends to celebrate the birth of Jesus!
