Please ask your children about the songs we are singing, what they learned, and engage with them at home by using the weekly

Advent Wreath Candle Lighting
To celebrate the four Sundays of Advent we will have a brief candle lighting experience and reading for you and friends or family to celebrate at home. Use this with a store-bought or handmade Advent Calendar of your choosing.
Here is the Advent Candle reading for 12-2-18
Reader 1: "For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. These words from the Book of Isaiah Chapter 9 Verse 6 refer to Jesus as the Prince of peace.
Reader 2: Today we light the first candle of our Advent wreath, the candle of Peace. May the light of this candle be a reminder to us every day that to follow in the way of Jesus means to live in peace with all people to the best of our ability. (Reader 2 Lights the candle.)
Reader 1: That means that we must be intentional about practicing peace every day, in every situation. May the prayer that guides our words and our actions in the coming week be "God, let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.

The Advent Storybook
Add The Advent Storybook to your family holiday traditions and enjoy the rich images and thoughtful retellings of ancient stories that feature God's recurring, faithful promise to rescue us.
A simple question at the end of each story helps readers engage in understanding the bigger story God wants us all to know-the good news of Jesus coming to save us. Parents and children alike will delight in the biblical messages of joy, hope, and peace every day as they look forward to celebrating Jesus' birth.

Help Our Planet
This is an amazing idea to help the planet!
As I get ready for the Christmas season, I want to be mindful about nature and the gifts that nature brings to us every day.
From wrapping small gifts on pretty kitchen towels, to using scraps of fabric or a nice blanket, we could help the environment and give our loved ones a double gift!
