Principal Newsletter
Dear Parents of Saint Joseph Elementary School,

I would like to take this opportunity to be the first to wish you a very Happy Advent.  Advent begins this Sunday.

The word advent comes from the Latin word meaning “coming.”  Jesus is coming, and Advent is intended to be a season of preparation for His arrival.  The Saint Joseph students will honor the season of Advent every Monday morning when our prayer will include a small prayer service around the Advent wreath, lighting the purple and pink candles each week ,as we wait in anticipation for Christmas.

During this time of preparation, I hope families will extend the lessons we are enforcing in school about putting ourselves in the correct mindframe for the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.  May we remember the simple things that are sometimes so hard to do. Be kind to one another. Respect one another. Respect Yourself.

I look forward to celebrating this Advent season with all of you.  May we all remember the importance of love and kindness to one another.

God’s Blessing on Each of Us,

Dr. Marquita Yriarte
Principal
